Hey guys,

im new,

my name is tom and I drive a ash black si!! I'm from essex and love watching football, women and anything to do with cars, especially fiesta si's!

I have got pics of my car but i really can't be asked to put them up as im busy fitting mr ZS rear beam and focus rear brakes.

Please note, when fitting rear focus brakes you need longer brake hose on the back. I found some 1980-83 escort front ones that work perfect.

PLUS the XR3i handbrake cable is too long on the inside cable, so need to make spacers.

SO the guide on FT.com that says it all goes straight on, i agree with BUT doesn't say you need longer brake pipes!

PS- sorry i missed last nite.

tom

Hey there Tom mate, hope it's all going ok, and welcome to the site :)

How about writing up a guide from your own experiences for fitting the rear beam? Just an idea....give it a bit of thought

Yeah i may do, thats the easy part tho, the hard bit is getting around the problem's of finding longer brake pipes in a shop and getting the right, or modifying a handbrake.

Plus I don't really think i've taken any pictures to create a guide.

Nice one mate! Just put it in the right forum, and give as much info as you can, so anybody who considers doing this has a bit of info :)

You got it finished now then?

Hey mate,

it was pretty simple. just take off handbrake cable, wheels, brake hoses. Then its suspension that has 1 bolt either side. And 4 more bolts each side for the beam to chasis.

focus, careful its a chore, check the guide section for the problems i had!

Zetec S rear drums are better than Si ones as they are bigger!
