As a general rule I would stick by is try to not go o.t.t on size, compared with fords original 14" rims.

My car is currently sat on 15" alloys, and rubs on both; the near side lower arm - a grinding noise can be heard on full right lock.
And on the offside they rub nicely on the plastic arch liner.

Also a general fitment guide for the SI would be:
P.C.D: Offset: C/BORE:
4x108 35...38 58.0

Most alloy wheel sales websites/companies will give you a guide for fitment anyway.

Do note that changing the size of your wheels will put your speedo out on a scale. I can't remember the percentage, its only small but when you get up to speeds of 60+ this percentage is probably going to make a difference between getting a speed ticket or not.

The wheels sit on studs, which IMO is better than having to bolt the wheels on, allows you to sit the wheel on the studs and nail the nuts on.

If people could post what size rims they have, how low their car is, what kind of rubbing they have that would help.

Mine's on 16's with 195/45/16 tyres, lowered 35mm, and gets rubbing on full lock. Spacers should sort that out, which Im gettin this week.

mate has a fiesta rs turbo lowered 80mm on 7*17's no rubbing is using avo coilover suspension set on mid-hard and the arches have been heavily cut

wheels are ET37 and he is using 3mm spacers front and rear

also steering rack is limited very slightly

im using 15" Zetec s wheels with offset of et42.5 no spacers on rear but 5mm on front
lowered 80mm (needs to drop a little more) and no rubbing

im at the mo car is lowered 35mm and im running on 15" escort rst alloys with 195/50 tyres. which dont scrub at all.hahaha

also i have just put longer wheels studs on the rear and had some spacers made for 22mm bringing the wheel out just that bit to make it look abit chunky cuz with my rst arches on it makes the rear wheels look really far in...pics coming soon :D

Ford Fiesta Mk3 - Offset is best at a 35 !!!

Running On 195/45/15 tyres !!!

Should go on fine unless car is lowered then u may require a spacer !!!

Or dependent on how low poss arch mods !!!

Unless u have a 2.0 litre lump in then probs best 195/50/15 tyres to accomodate the extra weight !!!

195 45 15 zetec s phase 2 alloys, bearly rub on full lock, lowered 40mm.. but no other problems...

standard 14" si alloys seem to scrub one side on the rear after i got it lowered.. but they were only on while mot was due, cause of shite tyre on the 15s

mines lowered 60mm with 195 45 r15s rubs on full lock even after having the inner arch liners removed i want the arch liners back in gets the engine bay all dirty! so i gona fit sum spacers on the front and get hold of sum inner arch liners

i found it didnt matter with or without arch liners as it just rubs thru onto the metal.. mine no longer rubs for some reason :rolleyes:

I still have steelies on mine... not sure if they are the originals... (when I bought it, bloke swapped wheels over, and fronts had horrible aged tires with *fun* amounts of grip :D) but 185x65r14 I think...

My tyres are good but thinking of getting some cheap alloys... what size would fit the tyres?

I guess most people would get bigger wheels and lower profile tyres (185x50-55r15?) but that would cost too much unless they came with them...

I had R15 195 45 profile tyres on my alloys, as if you use 50 profile they will most likely scrub

I got them for £22 a tyres for budget ones too!
