In short does anybody have any ideas to help.

I have a great netbook but with the usual 1024x600 screen and have sourced a 1366x768 screen.

Now its not and exact match in fitting, I have figured the best way to mount it in the chassis of the lid but this will mean its approx 5mm lower.

I am thinking of just black tape over the silver edge for the gap at the top but the bottom will need some plastic removing. So I need to extend the hole but also do it straight and as neat as possible.

An ideas on the best execution of the above (tools etc) or a better plan altogether?

Steel rule and a stanley knife to make a v-shaped notch where you want cut off then use a dremel to cut and emery paper to smooth the cut edge off.

Best way I can think of, but need to be careful when making the first cut with the stanley knife that it doesnt slip as it will need a good bit of pressure to cut a decent notch in it.

Would recommend trying to get a spare bezel off of ebay to practice on.

That makes sense I have all sorts of broken laptops so will try on one of them before the real deal.

Waiting for a cable extension now, as plug is in a different place, I will say I tried the new screen and the difference really is massive so looking forward to the upgrade.
