As some of you know i passed my test recently so i'm looking for cars....i've realised that MK1/MK2 Fiesta's are gonna be too out of my budget to find a decent one and no matter how much overtime i do i wont be able to afford one for ages, so i'm thinking of just getting a shitty little cheap thing as a run about to build a years NCB then get a better car after that?
However i'm just worried i'll regret it if it cant be modified/isnt an old ford...hmmm

What are your opinions on it?

(Meilack, Sam, Terry and Danny i'm preparing for your abuse!!)

Corsas are good for cheap reliable first cars and plenty of stuff available for them, its just not a ford.

How about getting a car you can afford, regardless of its marque ?

Cousin just insured a mega cheap 1.25 Mk4 Fiesta, and he's just turned 18 with 0 NCB.

He's opted for the tracker unit, so as long as you drive like a granny in your first year you will be fine!

I looked at them, but I would get high premiums for cornering too fast... you know so fast its well within the limits of my car and perfectly safe.

I will say in all honesty just get the cheapest to insure be it corsa/polo/fiesta and run it for a year or 2.

This is the best thing to do, insurance is dreadful for new drivers.

Had the same with the Clio 172, a 1.25 fiesta was the same price to insure..
