TBH I can't blame you Ry if I am being totally serious.

Once I get my feet on the ground properly I will be saving up (hopefully) and will be wanting to buy a decent car..

want something saloon size / estate size, not too shit on fuel, with comfort and plenty of power for daily use....

For example, mondeo st tddi estate, or a bmw 320d etc etc

Well I've convinced one of the directors to buy one so I'm going to have a drive in a few days and see what they are like.

Just want a winter barge really, and if I can't find a flight deal to go away in December, we're going back up to Aviemore so want something comfy to drive up in.

Ideally can just swap my car with one of these for a week via work if we do go up norf!

A lot of car for the money! But I wouldn't buy a jag  unless it was an xf! Big heavy cars arnt that bad. I love my Audi although it weighs near 1800kg but its got plenty of torque to keep me happy and its epicly compfy for the long drives I do + returns good mpg and sounds awesome for a diesel

From the moment I picked up your book until I laid it down, I was convulsed with laughter. Some day I intend reading it.

If you buy a pre 2003 one check from cam wear, there prone to it if they have been on the long life servicing, they seemed to rectify to issue after 2003 and discontinued the engine in 2005/6 iirc. Im sure your look into it before buying though anyway  I love the engine though, alot of people said get the 1.9 but the 2.5 is a winner just for the sound and smooth torque, you dont realise how well it picks up untill you look at the speedo due to the smoothness of it :D
