Just been on the phone to the insurance cos i found my certificate for the alarm on the car to see if they would knock any money off... after half an hour of giving details over and over the guy finally tells me it will drop from £1197 a year to £1156, tbh i thought it would be more than this but its better than nothing, then i asked how much it would change the price if i added locking wheel nuts, 20 mins later the guy comes back to me with the price.......... goes up by £27.. per month!!!! HOW THE FUCK DO THEY WORK IT OUT????? sick of tax/insurance/ petrol prices raping every penny we have :x

rant over....

My insureance said they would raise my price if I fitted a tracker.

Yes there is no sense.

So adding things to help your car not get stolen puts the price up. Makes perfect sense!! What twats. I cant wait to get my Si back on the road and see what magical prices they come up with.

Sounds ridiculous, insurance companies need to start again with how the assess applications.

im sure they just pick a number out of a hat
i queried the £100 extra from going from two to one car and they said it was because of the bigger engine (2.2) even through the puma was insured for more and was in the same insurance group as the st. the std mondeo was only 2 groups lower aswell

Quite a few people are with need to insure on here and I've not heard one complaint yet. They've done me a fantastic deal on a couple of things and Paul Bostrom really knows his stuff

It's not a complaint, it's someone saying that they could not be quoted. Huge difference in my opinion :P

Well I would class it as a complaint, what use is an insurance company who don't supply quotes to normal people.

Should be called: Need to insure (If you fit within our discriminatory critrea)

I wouldn't waste my time with such a company, they clearly don't want me.

The only reason I would phone would be to waste there time and ask questions like 'does that cover for zombie attacks', as it is I have better things to do than phone them, I have to go and crash my car and steal and kill... because thats what we all live like around here.

your accounting senses should be tingling,
I think you need to move to a different postcode as you will save more pennies!

The logic is correct, but if you look at the price of houses in my postcode and the prices in postcodes where it will drop my insurance and the sums are in favour of staying put, an extra 100k on a home to save a few hundred a year on car insurance doesn't make sense.

As long as you don't get shot of course.
