The Focus RS has set a time of 8:26 with Conti's fitted and 8:25 with the R888's. Only 1 second quicker on R888's though....

With the Toyo's the front end gripped which mean't it was harder to handle.
Just shows it's not just a matter of throwing some tyres on the car' it has to be set up correctly as well.

So that's not a bad time, I personally thought it would be more closer to 8.35/45! Very impressed. :D

(For reference points the R26R's time was 8:17 on standard R888 rubber. the standard Full Fat R26 with extra weight and Michelin road tyres laps in 8:30. Just 4 secs behind the RS that has another 70bhp. And the 240bhp Astra VXR goes round in 8:34)

Goes to show how 'adding lightness' (As Mcrae once said I think?) to a car can make it quicker than adding power.

Wonder when the video will be out online?

Has to be said wouldn't of expected it to beat the R26R, as it is an awesome track focused car and renault knows how to make a car light and go quickly

BUT, i'd still have the focus as the everyday drive because it has all those creature comforts in it, and it makes the better noise, it looks better than the megane, and someone isn't going to take mick by trying to push my plastic windows in

Regardless i was surprised the tyres didnt help much to the RS time :o Just goes to show!

Respect to Renault for setting a scorching lap!

I will have one one day, but it will be a long way down the line until I can afford one

Until then I'll just have to keep drooling at them (or make my Mk1 or RST faster than them :halo:  )
