You have two options here. The earlier RS1800 used external EDIS, but the later Mk3.5 ones used internal edis so will plug straight into an Si loom.

I cant remember the exact codes but they are something similar to 2FCA, but dont quote me on that beacause that is almost definatley wrong, both ECU's have a very simiar code.

So I would need the later one to plug and play in the Si

Do you know what work is involved in using an older ecu with internal edis?

Ive written that wrong, i meant to say the early ones had external EDIS, late ones internal. I think you woud have to change the whole loom to use the early type ecu

EDIT; Early ECU's (External EDIS) are 2FCD and ALSO
Late ECU's (Internal EDIS) are CULT

I have read somewhere else that the mk3.5 rs1800 ecu will work on the si loom.

what ecu did you use? and how hard is it to convert?

Hopefully getting hold of the CULT ECU and MAF this week, as well as the HO inlet

So, a few new little parts and cambelt, a paint and then the engine is off in, so give me a few weeks and the Si should be running :D

Im pretty dam sure that the later rs were internal EDIS.

And CULT rings a bell, so it must be that ecu as ray said.

In my old SI i took a gamble with a 1.8 mondy ECU and MAF on ebay. Code was BLOB, plugged and played, powered delivery was smoother as well. Was quite good on fuel. (as good as any fez gets...)

With 1.8 with 130 spec cams, xr2i inlet, rs tb, decat, and the above ecu and maf, it made 123bhp on rolers.

Ah cool, so if I cant get hold of CULT for now I'd be able to use a 1.8 mondy ecu for abit
