Ok, so this is my new 2007 BMW 3 Series Saloon E90 330D M Sport.

Comes with M Sport package, 6-Speed Manual, High gloss shadowline, exterior lights package, 18" MV3 Alloy, black Dakota leather interior, front & rear armrest, anthracite roof lining & pillars, Multifunction steering wheel, dual climate control, Auxiliary heating, iDrive widescreen Sat-nav system & BMW Professional Stereo, AUX port, front\rear electric windows and mirrors, remote locking, ABS, PAS, Traction Control, headlight washers, cruise control with brake function, auto lights & wipers, auto dimming interior mirror, reverse parking sensors with distance control, hands-free Bluetooth, voice control, BMW Assist, , smoker package, full BMW service history.

The M Sport models come with 18" MV3 alloys, sport front & rear bumpers, sideskirts, sports springs, sport steering wheel, sport leather gearknob etc

Kinda wish id stuck out and gone for a facelift LCI 2009 model with more extras like sunroof, folding mirrors, heated seats and xenons as these things are a pain to retrofit anything without extra wiring and BMW coding :x

Looking nice car pal, sounds like a decent spec too.

Never realy liked the back end of this shape but the lights in the picture of what your aiming for make it look alot better. Look forward to the progress.

It really is good, its got a decent amount of acceleration and torque, but if iam sensible can see 50mpg on a run.

Agree the rear lights make it look more dated then 2007 imo. Iam gonna change these for a more modern look though i think.

Overall i like the car. As far as performance and economy iam more then happy with it, but i feel it lacks features for a car of this type. Example i would expect heated seats and folding mirrors as standard not extras. The 4 speaker system is truly horrid, in fact the worst ive heard in a standard car. I would of expected better from BMW. My leon had folding mirrors as standard and was running 8 speaker BOSE as an extra and it just blows the BMW sound system out the water, so ill have to look into upgrade the sound in this car. sounds like speakers have blown if you have it remotely what you might call loud.

Integration of ipod for audio with coverart or video playback is also difficult on the iDrive screen. I know where i was with my Pioneer double din in the leon, just plug in reverse camera, ipod leads and rca to amp and away you go, nothings that simple with this idrive system. Iam going to seriously modify the idrive sceen\setup to give me access to all the things i want from it. Might have to upgrade the screen from a 2009 one which is HD quailty but i suspect thats mega bucks. seats are comfy but missing the konig bucket seats in the Leon. Did consider retro fitting the heated konigs into the BMW but think it might just look plain wrong, even more so, if the leather on the konigs dont have the same shade and texture of leather as the rest of the interior.............ill think about that one.

As far as mapping goes, running 300BHP on a manual puts more strain on the standard clutch and gearbox, so looking into a custom map of maybe 280BHP, so the clutch and gbox, has less torque running through it. Apparently the auto boxes cope better with map then the manual boxes do, and iam not interested in uprating the clutch. 280 would put it on par with a 335D, but not having the complications of having twin turbos.

That's why the original 535d was Auto only :(

Gave the car a service with a new pollen filter, 7.5L Castrol Edge 0W-30 & oil filter, K&N OEM fit filter. Cant beleive how big the K&N and the pollen filter are

Image

K&N Filter next to 1.5L Pepsi
Image

K&N was a complete bugger to fit as you have to take half the bloody engine out to get to it. Car seems to rev more freely with this fitted.

Smoked the white parts of the rear lights. not keen on its final look but it will do for now. Want to get the facelift tailgate and lights eventually

Black front kidney grills fitted.
