If the Audi TDI lumps anything like mine, then the k&N filters are known to bugger up the MAF cause there too oily apparently ?

Same with any maf sensor. Most aftermarket filters are oiled and over time the oil gets sucked into the engine but on the way coats the maf sensor elements which then doesn't give a correct reading - making it faulty. 9 times out of 10 you can clean the sensor with carb cleaner or similar and it will get rid of the oil on it. But still, oiled filters will effect all maf sensors.

panel filters aren't so bad for audi's - induction kit is a problem for audi engine's though

You don't need a filter on a VAG TDi, just get it chipped/re-mapped and you'll get shit tons of extra torque/BHP.

If you really must go after market filter route, a panel filter will be more than enough.

Cheers mate, remap will be done but that doesn't come under exterior mods  filter will prob stay standard as said you don't get gains on a filter setup on a tdi.

Hmm may have to try a cone then

Just a little update, quickly plugged this into the car today! And all is good and it works, just need a pin to unlock the damn thing. Messaged the guy I ought it from and he is going to check his manual for the code. If he doesn't have it its off to Audi I go. Some people say Audi will give you the code free aslong as the RNS-E is fitted into the car and you have the vehicle reg docs proving your the owner.

Right the conversion is going ahead tomorrow for this! Managed to source all the parts needed just in time for my 3 days off work 8-)

Double Din frame (took me ages to source this as every cage i found was for the saloon which wont fit the cab dashboard)
Image

RNS-E (all cleaned up)
Image

RNS-E harness
Image

RNS-E Aerial adaptor

Radio removal keys

I cant wait to get this fitted :D

Aparently its a 3 hours job due to having to take half the dash apart to fit the new double din cage in, should be fun in the temps were having at the moment

Thanksfully i tried mine before i stripped the dash out and all was good!

Anyway completed it today and im am very happy with the outcome, has transformed the inside of the car completely and the sound quality is so much better than my concert radio. All went smoothly, needed to trim afew parts due to all my ceter consol being designed around a single din and also the climate unit needed 2 mm cut of both ends but it all fits together as it should

anyway afew photos, not many as it was getting cold and wanted to finish it :lolz:

Oh it is! I've seem them fitted into the TT mk1 but involve a lot of fabrication. A4 and a3 are the easiest to fit. It's got two ad card readers so I've just loaded the up with music, it then sorts all your music into folders. Love it

Yeah that's part of the interior lighting pack, its quite a rare thing to get on the a4 but I was lucky to have it! Apparently they all have the lights in place, they just need power run to them  at the moment I'm trying to fugue out a way to illuminate my cup holder and Coin tray!

I did the same thing. i nicked my red illuminated vents from an Audi S3. I too wondered how i could illuminate the cup holder. irrelevant now as its gone in place of the heated seat switches. Golf MK4 wasnt illuminated either. wonder why they didnt do it on any of the VAG range ?

It's a nice little touch to have. I like having a well lit dash, I also have a red ambiant light in my arm rest

Ah they did on some cars, my partner's a3 has them illuminatd! I have spoken to people on the forum who have the fully factory lighting pack but don't hae th cup holder or coin tray lit. My partner's car has the full lighting pack and there lit!! VAG confuse me  I will figure a way to light them
