Hi Jamie,

Yeah, know what you mean, not worth it for the money!!

On the issue of remaps, I've got an ST-3 box that I used to remap the B7 that i'll be putting up for sale if you are interested.
Cost me £400 iirc with the two maps from Chipped-uk. I need to read up on it again but I'm pretty sure you can buy maps from them for £100-£150 and use the ST-3 to put them on if you are interested?

Can also be used for fault code reading too. http://www.chippeduk.com/products/ST3.html

Drop me a PM and we can talk prices if you are interested :)

Paul

Cheers for the offer mate, I don't really have the funds for it at the moment, was thinking of a remap middle of next year as I'm paying for a wedding at the moment

After afew issues the cruise control is all fitted and working, I was getting all sorts of error after installing the new module, cleared all the codes and still got issues, managed to recode the whole thing and half my errors went but still had an abs warning, took it for a drive to see if it would out out but it didn't, all my warning popped back up on the bash and the car cut into limp mode over 20mph!!! Found out eventually I hadn't reset my steering angle sensor corrently which was causing all the problems, reset the steering angle sensor and all my error went and the cruise control worked!

Nice one!! Glad you got it up an running.
Yeah, resetting the steering angle sensor is a pest, I think I had to do it twice to get it right from memory :)

No worries on the ST3, not sure when I'll sell it as im a lazy bastard :lolz: spoke to chipped uk and they said it would be £150 to get two re-maps on top of the ST3 cost, so will wait and see if I sell it.

Hello, another little update with this. Something else to add to my list of extras on this car. Managed to get an auto dimming rear view mirror which.has a built in light sensor and compass for me to add auto headlights with comming home fiction, just need to find myself a new headlight switch to enable auto headlights!. Again the.mirror was another eBay bargain! I just need to spray this satin black to match ky interior and then wire it in for it to work then at a later date buy a new headlight switch for auto lights Image

Nice one!! I always wanted to do this mod as my Mk5 Golf before the Audi had it and it was the mutts but could never find one cheap enough!

Take it you've looked through the guides and seen all the ball ache involved with it?

My partner's a3 has it and I was a little jealous of hers lol I got this for £15 delivered in an auction lol. Most of them go for £80+ have no idea how I got it that cheap.

Yup seen the guides and am looking forward to the wiring

"Looking forward to the wiring"

Hmmm.... why do I not believe you ;)

£15 is a bargain, they were going for three figures when I was looking into doing it a few years ago.

Haha to be honist it shouldn't be to much of a pain as I have already done all the wiring for the auto lights switch when I had my lower dash off when I fitted my footwell lights, so its just the fusing and getting the harness from the mirror to the fuse box! Apparently on a lot of a4s the loom for the mirror is already in place so its just plug and play then its just a case of the light switch wiring but knowing my luck ill have to make all the loom myself!

I know its crazy cheap! I don't know if it was advertised wrongly or something but I stumbled across it, it had one bid of £9.45 so I stuck a bid on of £10.45 2 days before the auction ended. 2 days later I had forgotton id bid on it and my phone went off with the eBay chime, looked and it said item won! Just need to find a cheap auto switch and comming home switch which are both rare as f**k!

We hardly get any Mk3's any more :(

There was one G-Reg one there at the weekend and its the first i've seen in months.
Even Mk4's are getting rare up here.
