the little cunto is sick

Bad misfire and heavy white smoke. At first i thought that it might be the coilpacks or the cat, but also noticed some collant loss in the tank but it doesnt apper to be leaking, this might explain the white smoke.

Hmm its had a new water pump, headgasket, leads and plugs only 6000 miles ago :?

on a different note, thinking about changing the headlights to some Morette Hella leveling headlights, as the aftermarket ones thats on there look ok but dont fit that well and give horrid light. There £360 but watching some on ebay thats at £26 at the min. give it a more 90's retro look aswell i reckon

Managed to get one coilpack for £27, put it on and alternate the 2nd one with the 2 old ones i took off and no difference so iam guessig its not them. Either the cat, or a waterpump or headgasket issue, engines shaking like shit too so think the gearbox mounts are on the way out too.

Looking to sorting piper cams if i find a good price on one and new cylinder head over the weekend. Should see some small gains on the cams as the old ones had it, 8hp on the cams should put it to 94bhp which I thinks pretty impressive for a 1.25

After another years insurance thinking about getting a punto gt3 and switching the engine and loom over to the cab. 130bhp standard with 0-60 around 7.9 I think.

Having said that the misses is eyeballing a new golf mk7 cabriolet.

picked up a set of genuine morette lights for the punto for a more 90's retro look. The current black halo ones look ok but are a poor fit and let off poor light

list of things still to do
paint and fit Morette Quad Headlights
Smoked front indicators
16" White Team Dynamics 1.2 alloys
195/45/16 Toyo Proxy T1-R tyres
Uprated engine & gearbox mounts
SoundX sound deadening
Smooth or cover tailgate badge holes
Front lip spoiler - £130
Punto GT Front calipers (refurbed in red)
EBC Ultimax 257mm vented discs - £120
Ferodo DS-2500 Pads - £100
O/S Door seal

Cheers Adam

It is mad spending this sort of money on an old punto but like you say misses loves it and loves the fact its very rare on the streets.

It was never gonna be an investment and always knew it was gonna cost a fair bit to get it right, but its been quite fun bringing back to life a car that was pretty much ready to be scrapped. Id go as far to say you be hard pushed to find a better one then this in the country. As we replace things like alloys etc, i have been selling the old bits off to make some money back so its not cost as much as it first appears.

£600 on one pulley? Your rather mistaken there. Why do you have to butt in with shit everytime I post something? Getting boring now.

The thing that shocked me the most of the £130 for the splitter! can get carbon fibre one for the clio for that!

Dephaser, timing belt kit, aux belt kit. takes 4 hours. with £300+ worth of tools.

Not having an arguement about it thanks. I had fun with my ZS regardless of how many engines I went through, you make it out to be worse than it was, and it was my money to spend how I wanted and I quite enjoyed the experience it gave me.

I'd rather not spam this thread, or have an argument on the one site that I actually enjoy posting on, so don't ruin that for alright? :)

exactly - you enjoyed spending money on the ZS

so i'm sure john enjoys making the punto nice for his missus - it's HIS money ;)

i'm not arguing so don't have a tantrum - just you can't say he is spending to much on something he enjoys :)

anyway

i think the cab looks awesome - keep up the good work ;) morettes will suit it much better :) - 94hp will make a lively 1.2!

hope it stays with you for a while as it clearly gets looked after ;)

Splitter is expensive but its hard to get parts for a MK1 now, so your lucky when you find a company thats still even manufacturing parts and you cant really shop around to compare.

heres a pic of morettes and the splitter on the front bumper. just gives the front a little more depth i think

its one of those things where you spent so much money on it, it would be a shame to not spend that little bit more to finish it.

Its an ok little car but its suffering from poor handling and iam gonna do my best to improve that.

Received the light smoked front indicators from demon tweeks, stripped down the Morettes, primed and painted. will leave them 24 hours then lacquer then fit over the weekend. Think iam gonna fit a set of 6k hids aswell. The lights are electric leveling so can turn down the hids in busy traffic, and turn them up on dark country roads
