I went with my dad to pick up his brand new car today, I'm a Ford man but this is such a lovely motor, the recaro half leather seats are superb, its only got about 60 miles on the clock so haven't opended it up fully yet, but up to 4000rpm the 1.6 turbo engine really pulls!!

Here are a couple of pics, and yes that is a personal plate he purchased this before he even ordered the car!!

Optional extras the 18's

PS - The car is flame red but the pictures were taken on my phone so are showing as faded for some reason. so don't really give a full picture of the intense colour.

They're 192bhp, but haven't really felt the full power as the engine is being run in for the first 1000 miles.

It does corner very well though even with the 18's.

Wow, a pink VXR

Watch the turbo on these, been a shedload of them blowing up! Make sure it's run in properly! :chill:

Nice. I do like these in that blue colour they do them in. Seem to go well for a modern hatch too.

The same way my previous group 15 car was cheaper to insure than any other modern hot hatch group 12/13/14 to insure.

I can get inured, but not for a price im willing to pay!

I have no idea why it costs more to insure the VXR, they are worth 3x as much so may have something to do with it, but FFS its a Vauxhall its not like anyone would want to steal one! :lolz:

i was about to buy one of these in black a month or so ago, i even convinced myself that £4500 a year for insurance was good for a 192bhp hot hatch at 19, but i pulled out because i knew it wouldnt end well, a week later i lost my job. i will buy one i think when there 3ish years old, ill be 22 so insurance shouldnt be so bad.
and they look best in white with the opc grill, and the anthracite 18's.

Saw these at the VXR go karting in salisbury when me and a mate went, must say ive grown to like the looks

And the insurance for me on one of these is cheaper than a Focus ST, hmmm :look:

Dunno though, its a Vauxhall, i hate vauxhalls, it seems wrong

just been given a quote of £2480 fully comp with unlimited mileage on a VXR artic edition. im only 19 so its pretty good as the artic has 204ps due to a remus exhaust.
im really tempted as i can afford it with the repayments for the car (just).

TWO AND A HALF FUCKING GRAND?

Are you kidding me?!! Either you're smoking a massive crack pipe of you're mentally insane. Just wait a couple of years and save your cash. You can get something that's just as quick and many things quicker for 1/5th the price and less insurance cost.

£17,000 for the car and £2500 for the insurance. So nearly £20k on a Corsa? Mate, I'd throw away the key with you!

How about a phase 1 Clio 172. 0-60 in 6.8secs (oh just the same as the Corsa!) An NCAP 4 star rating, a sprinkling of driver comforts and you've just saved yourself £15,000!

Got to agree with Scott here, no matter if I COULD afford that, there's no way I'd pay that kind of money on insurance! That's just ridiculous! Why put yourself in debt at such a young age over a car??

I can assure you you'll have that 2 years and want rid of it as your tastes will change and you'll mature, wanting a more appropriate car! Don't spend nearly 20k on car at the tender age of 19! :0

im not a fan of clios, i was nearly killed in a 182 and since i havnt liked them at all. i know there are cheaper cars but you know when you find a car you really want. ive still got things i want to do with my Si and i would like a civic vti so im thinking now to wait a bit then get one, i will get one tho (plus my girlfriend went mental when i said i wanted to spend 17000 on a car)

Most new sport hatchbacks look their best in white! :)

It's a shame the clio 172/182 was never made in white over here.
