I've been cleaning for about 1.5hours and my arm aches. Now I'm not into this cleaning lark really, I prefer to drive. I wash it with a Megs mitt and Megs NXT shampoo (which ran out today and I had to use this cheapo Turtlewax crap, useless!)

I have a clay kit and three-step polishing thingy by them. What decent polishers are there, for how much and what products do I need to put on them? I know everyone loves that 'PC' thing but that means nowt to me. Plus I seem to recall it being about £150. I could get to John O'Groats on £150 worth of fuel and it'll be more fun than polishing my car so cheaper options pleeeeeeease :)

i would have a gander at Gaz's website, Detailed Obsession http://www.detailedobsession.com/catalog/
he has loads of quality polishes on there and there are a few other users on here who his site (me being one)

they may not be the cheapest but it depends on whether you are after great results really

Mmm, paint damage ahoy! :D

It looks clean for about 10 minutes with them lot doing it. At least if you do it yourself and wax it properly, you know it's good for a while, and the next time you give it a quick clean, it comes up as clean as when you first waxed it! :)

Scott, the 3 step stuff from Meg's is pretty good! Step one is actually a polish aswell as step 2 but it's more of a compound polish to help clean the paintwork.

If you want a good wax, then Dodo Juice is highly recommended, but it's around the £30 mark per tub. An easy but very good wax I've found is the Meg's Gold Class. Gives a really deep shine when you've done the rest of your paint with polish and claying etc.

And you've only been doing it for 1.5 hours? Bah! Lightweight

Given up detailing for the winter, just don't see the point as it'll never stay particularly clean for long. Only big thing i can see myself doing before spring is perhaps give the wax a boost is there's a clear few days, but last did in start of september anyways.

I try do to manage one wash/dry per week though, and normally looks good for a day or so.

Gaz's site is really good, with fast personal service. can't fault it. will certainly be using it next year.

Yeah but, when you clean your car in the winter, it stands out even more as everyone else's cars are filthy!

Keep on top of it and it's an easy job when you clean it next time. Let it get uber dirty and it's a nightmare to do.

It looked awesome this morning when I came out to it. The blue was really standing out on the front (the only part I could be arsed to do)

I may clean the wheels today! Ooooh.

If we get any decent light I may take some pics. I clayed my headlights too and it made a hell of a difference. Pretty pleased.

I may go on a roadtrip tomorrow so pics ahoy!
