right ok then here i go

ive had enough of all these oak trees leaking over my car which is killing the paint! so i had a look on here on saturday morning and found out what the best thing to do about it and took a trip to my local halford! ( i know i know)

anyways, got all the cleaning bits, mitts, drying clothes etc etcl, as the car was really bad i took it over to my girlfriends as she has a pressure washer  . so after two goes on that and a wash i thought umm ok it could be better...so wash it again...... there ya go i thought to myself.

now for the other part. got myself a clean car now for the t-cut!

as the car is RED its faded on drivers side, bonnet, and boot. after doing a once over sat evening when it was nice and cool the final result ws 95% better than it was.

so stage 3 of cleaning my car will begin and end tonight! i got some of this nice wax stuff (cant remember the name of it now  ) and will be going over the car tonight, im hoping it will polish up nicly and get rid of some of the swirls etc. so another wash then wax tonight.

i didnt get any pics of it before washing it sat but i will take some of it before i start today before washing it etc.

wish me luck.

Michael

p.s

ive still got the si but its still in the garage waiting for money to be hosed at it......im refusing to scrap it :x

well after work and when the girlfriend got back i went round to hers to start. the results are amazing :) , can actually see myself in the paintwork! couldnt get any pics that came out good so i left that part of things. but im very pleased with the result and hope it protects the paint well enough.

thanks again FSI.

You have waxed it haven't you? That's your paint protection...

my car used to be parked under a tree all the time for years and the only way i found to keep the paint looking good was constantly cleaning it (i used to do mine around 3-4 times a week)

the wax will take a beating if you are parked under there after it has rained also so you will find that you need to keep topping up

other option is to get a car cover but not the cheap nasty ones from halfords or argos

get some pics up when you can

Whenever I go to my gf's moms I have to park under a tree, the whole street is lined with them, and the sap that falls off is ridiculous! The floor is sticky because of it, and the state of people's cars there is a joke

I couldn't deal with that. Move house mate!

Just set fire to them all

Ask the council for compensation for the amount of times you've had to have the car detailed ;) And the fact it's ruining your paint

From the moment I picked up your book until I laid it down, I was convulsed with laughter. Some day I intend reading it.
