the time has come for my Si

Image

to have its starter and alternator replaced

i made a start on it today after finding out that my starter was the cause of my starting issues!

i had it tested at zetec-s4's work and they found that the alternator wasn't to healthy  :x

so i decided to replace both with new/refurbed ones

old Vs new

old starter removed

new starter fitted

removed alt

old alt

now at this stage i was doing quite well, i then went to check my new alt and found that they had supplied me with the wrong one, halfords for you

i gave them my reg number, but on further investigation we discovered that they had the wrong part number for the 1.6 Si's alt

in total i think i've spent near on £300(without returning my old ones to get back surcharges)

i had to order an RS1800 alt as that was the only other zetec engined fiesta the guy could find  :?

hopefully it will be delivered on monday, then i can continue  its getting closer to becoming a month since i last drove my car

other than that i'm cutting it very fine for my MOT on the 15th of feb :o

going to collect another battery from my good friend mr boost mad 8-) cheers alex

shall post up when i have finished

but the alt came off quite easily and wasn't too bad to get to :o , i think i could have it back on in 25mins max and then spend the next 7hrs fiddling with the aux belt  :look:
