i did it my self as im a mechanic
i took the engine out in 3 hours had a couple of hours swapping
bits from one engine to the other
and fitting a water pump as the 2.0l one is different
also fitted a timing belt kit and new clutch
then put the engine in saturday morning and was out testing in the afternoon

all you need to swap electrical wise is the ecu, mass air flow sensor, throttle bodyoh and the injectors all to 2.0l ones
its a standard engine so i assume its around 135bhp
but unsure
but the torque is ace  :)
i got the engine and all the bits mentioned for ?250
bargain

im doing mine in the next couple of weeks, is their anything to look out for? eg anything thats easily overlooked? ive got the engine (in pieces) and ive got the T/B, ECU, MAF and injectors so ive got all the neccessary parts. how many sensors are their to swap did you replace any of the seals, nuts, bolts etc? thank you! ps how do you time the camshafts and crankshaft? ive seen those timing kits but unsure how they work!!!

take the cam cover off and in the opposite end of the cam there are slice's the tool sits in both of the slices to keep the cams timed up
and the crank pully has 2 notch's in the second one lines up with a triangle piece on the sump.
i used a mondeo engine with the plastic inlet manifold

but what happens if the crank pully has been taken off the crank? does the pully only fit on the crankshaft if its correctly positioned??? i understand the camsetting now though thank you, all i need to do is buy a tool!

i think a 5mm thick rod will work on the camshaft
when you take the crank pully off there is a key in the crank the woodruff key the can only fit on one way
