As some have requested here's a build thread on my Fietsa RS Turbo
I have copied over from Rsoc and a few post mixed together so hope its not to jumbled up
So I've been a member a while now and think it's about time to start a thread on my car, Mainly as a journal for myself to keep a history of the cars progress and changes whilst in my ownership and for those that are interested in viewing.
After a few times trying to get my hands on this car previously and failing due to the owner refusing to sell I tried again this year and to my surprise he gave in and agreed to me buying, so a deal was done and I bought a very nice little Fiesta RS Turbo that has been stored away in a garage for years and is sitting in very good condition. It really is solid from being stored well the only things I have noticed to address on the bodywork is a small bubble near petrol fill cap, the drivers side rear arch piece of the kit is pitted and needs changing. Got the replacement piece there already and a small dint in passenger side front wing the size of a 5p.
The car itself is a 1990 Fiesta RS Turbo in Radiant Red and has covered nearly 80'000 miles, Has a box file full of history and invoices right from the start. And benefits from a well spec'd engine build running at 285Bhp
Hopefully I will be picking it up next weekend so really looking forward to getting it home

Before the car was taken off the road by the previous owner a pin size hole was pierced in the ally rad by the actuator, He stripped the turbo and manifold off along with any other bits necessary to get the rad out to be repair but never got round to finishing it off. So I have a little bit of work to get done before I can get it in for MOT and tax it. Friend of mine at work is going to ally weld the rad for me so that's not such a bad thing So I'm going along to the garage tomorrow to get the rad off the car ready to take into work with me on Monday.
The reason for the actuator piercing a hole in the rad I believe is due to the standard engine mounts being left in place after the massive hike in power and one mount is split allowing the engine to move about. Again not a big deal but another thing to address before putting back together. I've heard that Vibra Technics mounts are decent ones so going to go for those. Also one of the core plugs is leaking so I will replace the core plugs while the manifold is off.
Once sorted I will be good to go for putting the ally rad back on and get the turbo and manifold back in place and re fit all the hoses and charge carrier ect.. Once all done I will give a good service changing oils and filters. Also with sitting for such a long time I will be bleeding the brakes and replacing the fluids. Once all that's done it will be in for an Mot a fresh Tax disc and off to a suitable tuner to have a proper set up.
Not sure yet where to go for a set up as I have read and heard good things about various tuners for RS's so any input on that would be appreciated. From what I gather MSD and NMS are the main 2 to go to for mapping/set ups. Both are roughly 200 miles from me so a roadtrip will be undertaken either way.
This is my first Turbo car so it will be a learning curve for me but I look forward to that, and I can't wait to get back in an

Unfortunately no pics just yet but I will try and get a few tomorrow when I'm round the garage.
Nothing major to report yet just a little bit of an update on where I'm at with the Turbo at the minute.
As planned I did go round to the Turbo to take the alloy radiator off so I could take it into work and see if our welder could weld the punctures made from the actuator. Once I'd removed the radiator I was able to see where the damage had been as there is a large area covered in radweld, I chipped away the thick of the radweld and decided I wouldn't be going forward with any repairs to the radiator and I will be buying a new one. So another Airtec 50mm core Stage 2 alloy radiator is now another thing going on the parts to buy list. I may aswell start as I mean to go on
I didn't have much time when I was there so didn't get the chance to get any good pics taken but I did push her out the garage to get a couple of quick ones on my iPhone. First time she has been out in 2 years so few tyres were flat and needed pumping up. So I pushed her out, ook a few quick snaps, pumped tyres up and put her away again.

Needs a good dusting off and a good day of cleaning which will be first job I will take care of when I get her home.
Unfortunately something has come up this weekend so I'm having to wait until the end of the month to pick her up. More time on hot toes looking forward to it :lmao:
In the meantime I have been speaking with Olly at NMS and I've decided on having the guys do the work on her for me, so I am going to be sending her down to the guys in Derby to have all the work needed carried out and let them set the car up properly.
