Right then, now the secret is out its time I started a thread on the new purchase!

My original plan was to create a sleeper out of the 1.1 runabout which has been in the family for a number of years now, but with time constraints and the cost of fuel to travel all the way to the garage in wales every weekend to do the conversion meant that doing this project became more and more difficult, and no longer seemed to make sense

I costed it all up (including insurance), and worked out that I could use the savings that I have been building up for a number of years now, and push the boat out and get a mk1 FRS. This would be the best of all worlds then, as it is a practical and useable RS, fast, more refined, more modern (and therefore less rusty!!), basically a perfect all rounder, also wearing the RS badge

After alot of searching over a good few weeks, I finally came across this gem. Two previous owners before me, the first being a bank manager for three years, then the guy I bought it off, who has had it for seven years and basically used it as a sunny day “toy”, with it being kept in a carpeted and heated garage for the rest of the time. One year he only did a couple of thousand miles in it!

It is completely standard and unmolested, with original dealer plates and sticker to finish it off! Got full ford service history, all receipts, all work has been done at ford, every single tax disc and MOT etc, and is low milage too (just ticked over 46k on my way back from ford fair)

To top things off, as it is completely standard, insurance is £900 cheaper than it would be to insure the si!!

Anyway, enough rambling, here are some pics:

Yours is equally awesome buddy, and is perfect for a daily. I couldnt afford to run this as a daily, but as I dont need it to get to work its fine

If I drove to work, I would be in an st170 all the way

Intrigued by this "well wear" phrase, might start throwing it into random conversations at work, see the reaction...

Needs a different exhaust! Love it though front ends on these look mean. Rear ends let them down. Said to Danny there was something strange about yours. Went and looked at an rs nearby and worked out it was lacking a big outwardly rolled exhaust! lol

So jealous :-(

Once again, I deeply apologise for taking your space, thought it was free as I didnt realise anyone had such an early track time

Will deffo take you out in it, when I was weighing up what to buy it was very close between this and a mk2 ST like yours, but was swayed to the mk1 due to the limited build number for future appreciation in value, and the RS badge too

Its an excellent car to drive

With this being 100% standard and "how henry intended", I am keeping it this way for the time being, and also need to do so in terms of insurance

Who knows what the future holds though... :halo:

Keep working towards it and you will have one one day buddy, I have been aiming towards something like this for years now, putting bits of money away whenever I could etc

We can be FRS buddies then ;)
