looking good but i dont see the point in ther airbox around the trumpets as surly the first trumpet going to get more air than the last one or doesnt that happen when i run mine i just leave the trumpets out at the back

as its running the standard MAF sensor it needed a sealed airbox/plenum chamber. i did wonder about the air flow to each trumpet but Pipercross http://www.thepipercrossshop.co.uk/competition_600_airbox.asp do a simular end feed airbox which is designed for upto 220bhp and seems to all work ok.

Ooo so it has given it more power with the standard ecu and maf

I'd try fit the ford TPS and take it back to see if it makes the torque any better.

Might have to do this on my pickup to give it a tad more power and grunt lol

@olly, as he is using standard ford ecu and sensors the airbox is needed. while running with aftermarket ecu the airbox could be discarded.. unless you wanted TBs and turbo conversion running through them

A nice power increase there, and the maximum power level has moved further up the rev range.

Are you going to use it as it is for now or go for that after market ECU?

going to stick as it is now, think as to now revs much easier/higher where it topped out at 115mph 2/3 way on the straight at snetterton think might pull 120+ now.
As now neigh on 150bhp and stand alone ecu £600+ only really going to be worth it if i go head and cams, will also try and fit the orignal TPS for and extra bit,
Trissy_si, Hows yours coming on?

its running really well, looking to try and get it on track next week, and may still try and make FITP.

the air box was made by making a plug out of dence foam type insulation which can be easilly cut and sanded to shape. then wrapped in mould release film like clingfilm and then just a couple of layers of fiberglass all round. Once set i just cut/broke out the insulation plug from inside, cut the holes and job done (well thats a bit of a shortened version) it wasnt difficult and will try and find some links.
This was easier than making separate top and bottom as it needed to be totally sealed for the MAF

so its working well on the standerd ecu well that's good. :)

i will have to make this my next power mod as i now have my ashaly full exhaust system so coupled up with a de-cat it will totally derestrict that side of things suposet to the 1.6 manifold.

so now all i need is the inlet derestricted and i think this will be the perfect way.
i was planning on useing the piper inlet box with mine if i ended up doing it look's good dont it.

i was planing on runing the air pipe for the piper box thruw the inner wing and to a flush fitting duct on the outer wing but not sure if it will get the best air flow as opost to it getting the air from the frunt of the car. :hmm:

Nice one, I think I may look into this cheap route after FITP and see how it goes, just for the sake of experimenting

It sounds good mate, that camera mount will make some good youtube footage.

I assume its now finished and track ready? When do you plan to take it out?

during last trackday started getting bit too warm and as the air filter is now in a potentially hot area wanted to get some more cold air into the engine bay so made some extra holes in the bumper behind the number plate, so on track can just remove it a bobs your uncle

Good videos there, it looks like it goes well, and probably would show up a lot of more powerful machines.

How did the tyres perform in the wet? i see you locked up in one of the vids.

Also on the back straight are nearly on the red line in 5th, sounds like you've run out of gears!!
