here are the pics as promised, before anyone comments on my little intake system...it is literally...well my prototype and now im 100% it works im going to get my mate who's a welder to build either a stainless one or an ali one for me :) room is a serious issue tho so ill literally just build a metal one of these and make it all shiny...more tapered towards the fourth cylinder although here are a few of my stupid quick designs to obtain equal air flow as well :P

Satisfaction is the biggest issue for me :D i was told you must have after market management! it wont even run...but it runs superb so im over the moon, outside til 12 every night has really paid of so far. although i didn't get in till gone one last night :(

ill go take a pic in a min and then upload it :) i only just found out i can e-mail photos from my phone for 5p each.lol

the next job now is the plenum and then tidy the entire engine bay up as i havent cleaned it in a while...just make everything presentable :)

o yea ive removed the fire wall as well you can prob see but it means my filter can fit right up in the corner with virtually no heat soak :D

Looks good mate :)

So are you running a standar ECU? as the MAF is still there.

Whats it like compared to a standard set-up?

Emlyn

yerp running standard 2ltr DEEP Ecu, it feels a lot more torquey and its def quicker than standard inlet its about on par with the four motorbike carbs maybe a little less at mo but its still got work to be done! as ive said before im not expecting the same gains as you would with after market management but if i can break the 160bhp mark which im very sure it will ill be happy. like i said before its a lot less money without the after market management so although there is more potential to it with management i see more bhp/£

plus more tasty noises  i cant keep my foot of the accelerator just to hear it.lol

Nice one mate :)

Wonder what its like on fuel tho :red:

I have toyed with the same idea with the rs1800 engine in the pickup.. maybe if I get a daily drive or another job closer to home I'd do it

Erm its not that bad on fuel to be honest, a lot better than the carbs.lol

well so far ive put £10 of fuel in and got abit left which is more than i would have with the carbs, its actually really smooth on the pick up! ill work out my MPG in a few days once she running and let you know ;)

Im currently fitting motorbike carbs, but also got a set of GSXR Throttle bodies but wasnt going to fit them as yet because of the expense of the Engine management, have you fitted an idle valve at all? or just left that sensor un plugged?
