 Post subject: Puma gear linkage??

Wanting to fit a short shifter for my 2.0 si, heard the puma gear linkage is the best option? Anyone with some info?

a lower model mk5 fiesta gear linkage would be best

You need to make sure you've got an iB5 box rather than a BC one as the puma linkage doesn't have the return spring in it it's done by the box where as the BC box doesn't have the spiring it's built into the linkage. You can retro fit the return spring on the puma linkage but it can be a bit hit or miss I've read.

Base spec mk5 fiestas had bc boxes I think and 30% less throw

All i know it's got a rs1600 box on it, will it fit that?

that's a BC box so you will have the same problem as described.

Find a 1.3 mk5 and nick the linkage of that

And the mk5 linkage will give me a shorter throw?
