on my fiesta the water come out between the head and the thermostat houseing i was just wondering if it could be down to a faulty thermostat any help would be appreciated

Bolts lose at all? Could be faulty gasket. I'd replace that and see how you go from there.

Gasket failure, loose bolt or if its a plastic thermostat housing then it could have a split in it

rubber o ring on the plastic housings, or paper gasket on the metal stat housings on the zetecs
