Hi guys ,

does anyone know what the advantages of the zetec s rear beam are

Im thinking of upgrading , but dont want to do it , if there not really any major improvement

is the rear track any wider, and is it got better rigidity, and does the rs1800 drums, shoes etc,,,,, fit onto it( as my parts are all like new)

Zetec S rear beam is slightly stronger due to a few added strenghening plates on the hub ends, and the track is slightly wider (20mm or so in total i seem to remember)

There were some pictures floating around somewhere (fiesta*turbo.com)

The MK3 drums should fit fine.

Unless you get one cheap, or want the extra track.. I would just strenghen the mk3 one up with a bar in the middle welded :)

the mk 4/5 inc zs, the stub axles are a different bolt spacing to the mk3 therefore you need the brakes from a mk4/5 inc zs

worth noting that the mk4, has a fork style rear shock mounting

Anyways,

I collected the Independant rear beam last night... I got informed that the "freak-power" guy doesnt make them himself, a guy at his work does... and this is his last one as he recently passed away.

Think this is the 8th in existance, and last one.

Enjoy it Jam ;)
