Post subject:  2.0 Mondeo Engine into FSI (Again Sorry!)

Hi all, new to the site and have just read the posts on swapping a Silver top Zetec 2.0 into the FSI, I am thinking about this for my car, which has the 1.6 Zetec in it, But I have a few queries from the other post.

I'm trying to find out EXACTLY what I'd need to get hold of, so I could take all the bits to someone to do this.

I have found where I can source the 2.0 Silver top Engine for around £200.

From the article I know I would need the 2.0 Throttle Body, and the 2.0 Mondeo ECU. These I have found on Ebay and are not expensive.

It mentions the oil pump needing to be changed, is this to the mondeo one as well? Any idea on a price for this.

Are there any other parts I would need for this conversion? Gaskets etc? Sorry but I am unfamiliar with what parts have associated gaskets within the engine.

I'm trying to gain an idea of the total cost involved and what I'd need down to the last nut and bolt lol.

Any info be appreciated.

You'll need to take your oil pump off your 1.6 and put it onto your 2.0 as it pumps the other way. So you already have this part.

i read somewhere that you can keep the 2.0L mondy oil pump and put a CVH oil filter on which is smaller :? (please correct me if i am wrong)

Yeah I'm considering this at the moment. With the amount of stupid little 10 minutes drives I have to do, a turbo is probably a bad idea due to fuel costs and timers etc. There is the Nitrous kits, but I'm not sure of the payoff having a 50 or 75BHP shot on the existing engine, it'd still only be about 140-150bhp which is what my prior car was. Would be expensive taking into account a controller as well.

But with the bigger engine, it can always be tuned further, plus doesn't sound that expensive.

most ppl leave the oil pump on coz theres a risk ov snapping the crank taking the pulley of ull need to change the
water pump to the fezzy one,
the inlet and exhaust manifolds,
the bracket for the alternator n power steering pump
as well as the alternator n power steering pump
n fly wheel n clutch
monkey magic 2.0l in a fez thank u pleez

cool, i live near gatwick got friends in crawley :), my other half has a horse near peas pottage, my car can be seen round those areas sometimes :look:

Hi, soz for delay in reply have been off for a bit.

I'll be going to the Ford Fair 6 Aug at Silverstone, in the fez, which now sports some of those nice 15" cossie style wheels, a full mongoose system and a k&n induction kit!

I go to crawley weekends sometimes,
