1, drain rad.
2. undo hoses to thermostat housing.
3. remove housing with a hammer (gaskets strong!)
4. prise out clip.
5. remove thermostat.
6. remove O ring.
7. clean housung.
8. attempt to fit O ring from your halfords thermostat, curse.
9. attempt to fit you halford thermostat, wondering why it wont sit level.
10. attempt to fit your halfords retaining clip, again cursing as it wont fit correctly.
11. say "fcuk it, it's not going anywhere"
12. having removed traces of first gasket, fit up new one in place, wondering if a blind man designed it because NONE of the holes line up.
13, put it all back together, fill system, watch needle settle at the "M" whilst vowing to only buy motorcraft parts in future.

hope this guide is useful. :)

pressure valve?

it is fairly straight forward on the zetec. drain coolant, remove hose undo three front housing bolts, change 'stat, refit, add coolant
