I need some new rear tyres and just wondered what you gays have on your cars. I'm looking at the Dunlop SP Sport 01 and the Goodyear Hydragrip at the moment as they provide good wet performance and excellent dry performance. Having small wheels, it's hard to get performance tyres. I have Goodyear Eagle F1's on the front and they're phenomenal in all weather and incredibly durable considering how hard I push them. Sadly they've been discontinued in 14" so I'll have to settle for something else on the back.

What do you guys run, or do you in fact care? I know most people, economy rules over performance.

Toyo Proxes are awesome tyres. I have them on the front of the Fez and might get them for the Pulsar when I get the new wheels. But I had Yoko A539's on the back of the Fez and although a very good dry weather tyre, they were shockingly bad in the wet :oooh:

as Des said, for a dry weather tyre the A539 is fantastic. it's a bit scary in the wet though.
i have kuhmo Ecsta's on front of mine. read some good comments about them. not bad for the price either. got avon zz1's on rear, but they're getting changed as soon as money is available as they are cracking on sidewalls, this appears to be common

Yeah, they're the right direction :)

And I didnt mean I have them on the Pulsar, I have them on the front of the Fiesta :) You'll get wheelspin in the wet being fwd no matter what really, but they should inspire some confidence when driving, as opposed to the A539's :oooh:

They're two kinds and I've heard one sucks the dong compared to the other. For some unknown reason, they come in 14" but 195 wide instead of the standard 185.

Uniroyal Rainsports 195/45/R15s. Very noticable difference in the wet, the water channels are very effective. Doesn't help covering 52 miles a day, but the inner shoulders are getting mullered. Thats either the distance they've covered or hammering it down the A610 through Codnor at silly speed
I got told by a tyre fitter that Proxes are a very soft compound compared to most (hence the decent grip) but they also wear down super fast.

Although a cheap tyre a NANKANG NS2 is a quite good tyre for all around usage !!!

But toyo t1s/t1r proxes still wipe the floor with most !!!
