Will let this lady do the talking, but it just goes to show that weight reduction is still the key mod for easy performance gains - “First, add lightness. If you make a car more powerful it will go faster on the straights; if you make it lighter, it will go faster everywhere.”

Hi folks, i took my Integra out and did afew runs with my Racelogic vbox hooked up. I did afew runs with different weights but i've only shown the results for the standard weight and -100kg as the graph looked a bit busy.. They were done on the same stretch of ground so its a fair test.
Quite an improvement over the standard weight!! Its gone from being quite abit slower than my 350z to being almost identical from 30-80 in 3rd gear. Not bad for saying the Integras don't really have much go low down in the rev range. Through 2nd and 3rd gears it managed a 4.8 seconds 30-70 time compared to the 350z 5.0 seconds 8) If only losing another 100kg was as easy, or 200kg in Nez's case :o must be nippy......

Interesting stuff. I want one of these "vbox" devices. :chill:

Nice. Every KG counts then really! Even if it doesn't feel like it.

Weight loss is a bit part in it all. I watched a video once and these guys stripped out this crappy old micra or something, literally gutted everything, then like cut the roof off and stuff and the car literally flew, it was so quick. But obviously no roof is not good. Even with the roof on it was a lot quicker than what it was before hand.

Watched a programme where they did a similar thing to a honda civic 1.4, they stook a 1.6 in and give it turbo power and put it against a 350z (or something similar) to which it battered or would have if it hadnt broke half way round lol.

Its nice to actualy see the difference as when putting it down to feel you cant be sure how much better it is.
