Well, the apparant normal ways are to garage the car if possible, don't use it for getting to and from work, stick a CAT1 alarm on it (although my insurance company don't actually care which is odd), and if you're a new driver do the pass plus test.

Pass plus halved my 1st year premium, but then in the 2nd year with 1ncb the premium was the same as you cant use passplus with ncb

im 22 and at the moment from adrian flux to insure a 1.4 si is £900 :x

cant wait till december though, reasons below...

- adrian flux policy ends
- ecar has quoted me £580 for when my adrian flux policy runs out
- i wonder what would of been cheaper out of the two about a year ago

Quinn-Direct are pretty damned good for me.

£650 on 1.6Si, with a years no claims from them.

First year was much harder though, i started with a 1.1 costing £1200  which i got rid of after two month for my Si paying just an extra £135 for the rest of the policy. In my experience the 1.1 wasn't worth bothering with!
