I was just wondering what effect (how much) certain modifications have on the insurance premium?

1)Full bodykits
2)Just skirts and arches
3)Performance exhausts (suppose this depends on what one?)
4)Air filters (K&N etc.)
5)Any other common mods people can think of?

Thanks :)

Depends on the insurance company. Mine will cover those mods with no extra charge, some will only allow three mods, charging £50 each and some wont allow any mods. Only way you will know is to phone and ask.

mines got a whole load of different modifications sum companys go yeh we will quote your moded car and then they find out how many mods u got and hmm no sori we can't quote u as you have too many modifications i had to tell them everything because i want to b completely covered in case of an accident, as the police pulled me over regularly and check what mods are covered at the time
as once i hadn't told my insurance company about my sparco strut brace then the copper told me i need to or iits like driving without insurance

yeh, not to sure what my insurance company gona say, when i phoned up to first insure the si, i had an arguement with them, they were telling me that there isnt a 1.6 16v only a normal 1.6i, only the 1.4 has got 16v, then told me to go and check.

fiestasiphil: just realised that u the person who went to santa pod recently, see the photos of your car, like it very much :) dont think ill be declaring that many mods! :)

im with bell at the minute, main reason being, i was with them for my first few cars and because i pay monthly, if i changed me insurance company, i would have to pay a deposit again which i couldnt afford, i think im paying well over the odds tho, its a standard 1.6, im a named driver, and its £1400, with a 1 year NCB, thats with it being parked in a garage at night (which it isnt :) ) i put it down to living in london and it being high crime rate area and lot of traffic, so more chance of having a crash.

But ive seen people quotes on here who live in london and other dodgey areas with quotes much lower, oh and that third party only!, so if it gets nicked thats it! :x

ive just got a quote for my 1.6i ghia five door fiesta (si) £586 tpft from endsleigh insurance, im 19 with 2 year no claims

Norwich union wanted just under £1300 to re insure this year when last year was £850, i was like wtf and rang them straight away and told them to bollocks..

hopefully gettin my orion on the road which is about £50 more than the rotten shitbox fiesta (i do love the fiesta tho, if i do actually get the orion, i want to finish the fez off, even tho my girlfriend, mother and uncle keep telling me to sell it or scrap it :oooh: ... they just dont understand how it feels to care about something, and want to finish the job off grrr)

8-)

Its with bell, but the problem must be with there computers and the car not being listed, but it seems to me that it not just a problem with them...Cick on the link and try and select a 16v 1.6, i can seem only to get a non 16v 1.6, only 16v they list is a it looks like to me is 1.25 :?
