CIS quoted me £5500 for Third party fire and theft on a 1992 Fiesta 1.1 LX. (I was 17 with 0 years ncb... but its still expensive because the car was only worth about £300!)

£5500 is a fucking joke

i got insured at 17 the day i passed on a 1.4 metro for 1600 quid and halfed it a week later after doing passplus for 60 quid, so my insurance was 800 on my own name

was the same when i got my 306 1.9d and then the daewoo 1.5 and now the Si

First car I insured in my own name was my XR2i. That was £900, 19 0NCB. I wouldn't pay anymore than £1k for insurance on anything now, just seems a waste.

What makes it worse than young ages with low NCB, is high insurance groups for Mk3 Fiesta's...

My old car...

1992 Mk3 Fiesta 1.1 Group 6

Something which I don't quite understand aswell...

1.3 Mk5 Fiesta Finesse 3d Group 4
1.3 Mk5 Fiesta Flight 3d Group 6 (My new car)

Why?!?

Its the same car... same engine... same year...

If you're willing to pay that for a Fiesta Si 1.6 then you're a more foolish man than I. Where do you live? Iran?

its not always foolish, I had no choice but to pay £1400 on my first car.

Location does make a huge differnce, apprantly where I live is one of the highest insurance risks in the country and basically I nedd up paying at least twice what most other people get.

my Saxo is now £1200 at 22 woth 3 years NCB most people in the same situation but different area get it for £600-700

There's no difference you realise. Si/Ghia, it's all the same to them. I just switched mine when I went from my Ghia to the Si.

but im not bothered, if i have to pay it i will do.. in the long run im gonna end up with cheaper insurance compared to all the cunts that go under their fuckin parents :x
