Right, as im wanting a 2ltr in my fez... but im going to uni in september, im 19 on my own insurance so i have to pay quite abit.. well its 850 on my 1.6

I will have 2 years no claims in november which might help abit..

My current policy runs out in november and they might rip me off if i change it to a 2ltr before then..

But what do you think the insurance was like for 19 year old, 1 years no claims on 2ltr?

I have to plan this cause if i do it and cant afford to run it when im at uni im screwed.. might just stick to the 1.6  hmmm

decisions decisions

Buy a diesel for uni, cheap to run (especially if you're at Uni a long way from home) and insure and you can save up and build up your no claims then buy something better when you graduate.

At a guess I'd say you'd be looking at close to a grand to insure a 2.0 converted Si.

With most insurance companys the 2.0 only pushes it up 1 insurance group.

Just phone them up and ask :)

Yeah gonna have a ring round, then i can sort it.. :)

and to be honest, the cost of me getting a decent ish diesel to run could just be used to for the extra insurance on the si

when i was with tesco, i got a quote for having the 2.0Ltr put in and they wanted an extra £650, which i thought wasn't bad but considering i was paying £2000 as it was i was not prepared to pay that extra bit :look: , so i waited till i got my 1 NCB from them and started looking round and got a quote from adrian flux as i said before and the rest is history

Just got off the phone to Norwich Union, they do not insure any car that doesnt have the same engine in as standard, so to change engine it has to be by ford and a 1.6.. nothing more.. fuckers.

5 Months left, would cost £30 to jack it in, and wont get any no claims bonus..

Cant be bothered to wait till November to get engine and stuff as i cannot afford it then.. hmmm
