If you pay for insurance up front for 12 months, but you then sell the car in the 10th month of the policy, do you by law have to let the insurance company know that you don't own the car any more, or can you just let it run on to 12 months just to get that extra years NCB.

I've always wondered about this one :lol:

I dont think they would find out if you did but essentially you have to tell them everything, couldn't you transfer to another car like a family members to finish the year of?

Ah that would make sense :) of course there can't be multiple policies.

transferring a policy is a possibility, but it depends how specialist the policy is in the first place really.

I was paying monthly and had one suspended as mine 106 died.
I still kept my no claims building up for when I got the ZS and then when I did they just upped the premium for it. still gained my no claims come renewal time! Same sort of thing.. but not.. :lol: basically if there nice they might suspend it for you.
