Well after been over joyed at my recent purchase of my RST, i decided to double check the quotes ive been getting, so after been driving 2 years with 2yrs NCB and Thatcham cat 1 + a 24 hr tracker, with the only real mods of a dv and alloys, The quotes i were getting back were at the best pants down material, the lowest been £1800 TPFT and £2800 FC, now before i even bought the car i was getting happy quotes of £1800 FC and £1400 TPFT, so why has it suddenly all shot up now i actually own the car, the car is kept in a secure garage and there is a police station in sight, clearly i know it isnt even going to be really cheap as its an insurance group 15, and serious go compare is :bs: i put locking wheel nuts and my insurance went up, does anybody have any advice or know any good insurance.

im 19
2 Yrs NCB
have driven performance cars, including the rare 1.6 sports mini,1.6 astra sport, 2.0l picasso, 1.6 seat altea, 1.6 nissan quashqi or however its spelt, Tuned 1.0l corsa c, tuned 1.6 fiesta Si, 206 1.8, thats about it really
will have a thatcham 1 clifford 650 mk2 and a tracker that is 24 h
it also has a hidden fuel cut off switch so they cant start car, and even if they can it has a snap off steering wheel :), windows are now fully tinted so you can look in but arnt illegal, so does any body have advice for me ?

adrian flux so far has been the most expensive with a total whopping £4000 TPFT, see what the others chuck back.

mine has come down every year so far :hmm:

but those quotes are stupid, but i'd seriously not even bother with go-compare/confused.com

i did some quotes for the cossie with them and the ones that did quote me were like iirc 3k, now compare that to the £560 i'm paying now, i think its a joke

I think the comparision sites are fine for 'normal' cars like mine.

I have found when speaking to insurers to ask about my postcode first, saves time going through it all most of the time.

Maybe I am paranoid, but they will figure middle aged people are dangerous when I am middle aged and old people are dangerous when I am old.

Can't wait to move to iraq and save some money on car insurance.

i was in the exact same scenario with my fiesta rst, was getting insureance quotes of £1200 before and then when i wanted to take it out it shot up to £1600ish... the reason i bought the fiesta was due to its cheapish insurence, if i thought it was gonna be £1600 anyways i woulda bought a cossie lol.

but i managed to get both my cars insured for £1650 a year so happy days lol
