Runs out at the end of this month I think. Not had any paperwork through yet for my renewal but having had a few quotes it's not getting any cheaper. I think I may as reached the age where it doesn't get any better. I used to relish it dropping £100-200 a year when I got older and earned another NCB. It's maybe about £20 less than I paid last year for it. I'm sure my renewal will be about £100 more expensive than last year as they try that trick every year. :lolz:

Has this credit lark pushed prices up for you lot?

Yes, quotes have been much bigger this year than last years even with an extra 1 years NCB and driving experience.

You can but shop around.

Be sure to get on the phone and do the leg work. Mine gave me a renewal price, I rung round, phoned up my original to say bye bye, and they bettered it by 20 quid then and there!!!!

Our glorious govenment are looking at introducing insurance as a compulsory measure, be your car on the road or off it, so long as it has a V5  :x :x :x :x
If such a scheme were to go ahead, whats the betting prices still won't go down despite the extra revenue
Evaders will continue to evade. Why don't these people get it

That wont go ahead.

If it does they'll have to come impound my off road cars.

I've down to 10 at this moment in time, but I never have more than 3 on the road at any given time.
2 are spares cars that'll never see tarmac again for christ sake

I like your optimism. Certainly wouldn't suprise me.
It's apparently a law being pushed by the police, as they're struggling to do people for no insurance through the post due to the numurous loop holes.

Thats the attitude I have, but worrying all the same. Last thing I want when I go to tax a car is:
"There's your 12 months tax sir, and your xxx Pound fine"!!

As I found when I had trade insurance for a brief period, there are several different types of cover depending on your business. Every time I picked up a car, i'd ring them up and they'd add it to my list.
For the likes of garges who have cars come in and out on a daily basis, I assume it just encompasses anything in their posession, as the car itself should by alrights still be insured by the owner...

Proposed regs would cut the current loop hole that is the difference in legal terms between: the registered keeper, the owner, the driver, and the bearer of the keys.

My apologies for the wandering topic.

Quite surprised at mine, went down £50 when just the renewal letter came through, then another £50 when I rang them up
