Question thats been asked loads i expect.

Iam just looking to insure my Si. Got a quote from performance direct declaring mods, TPFT of £800. I have no no claims. i was upto 7 years before, but when i didnt have a car insured for a few years i lost them all so had to start again.

Just wondered what insurance company your all with, prices, type of cover, NCB, and for what car and mods would be a great help to me in finding a cheaper quote

your quote was better than anything i ever got. im paying 2k on a standard si with no mods and 0 no claims as i was with my dad for the first 2 years. im fully comp with admiral if that helps at all but i didnt no who was better than the others because all the quotes were around the 2k price with me as i had 0 no claims!!!

youre better off going TPFT will probably save you £400 on your premium which is more than they will value your car at should the worst happen. then there is the issue of your excess. I was tpft with admiral for about £950 with 0 ncb

my 2ltr fiesta was insured with adrian flux and they were alright, somewhere around £420 fully comp IIRC. bit ridiculous with renewal quotes though, quick call to greenlight for a comparative quote soon sorted that. although they wanted a ridiculous amount of money to insure my V70 T5 - £1065!!!
cost me £165 to cancel my policy with flux mid term!!!
Seems silly really as they've probably lost a customer for life now after being so unwilling to provide me with a decent quote even after i'd told them what Chris Knott had quoted. They then said they could probably get it down to £900!!!
now insured with Chris Knott who were brilliant. £460 fully comp

Adrian Flux and HIC are basically the same people but ive had great premiums with HIC and got an agreed value of £3500 for my Si which i didnt find to sad.
Last year was £268 fully comp but i am an old git who has been driving since 1988 without any claims

how you get that agreed value!!!! it was hard enough for admiral to agree to mine being worth 1200 and that was with a genuine 32k and an average 5k milage a year!

was mainly down to the costs of the modifications and the general condition of the car i think. I wanted to get the maximum price i could and that was as high as i could go :)
