I've chatted to a bodyshop about these, and it seems there really isn't an easy way in particular.

Because the spat bit you can see (the small arch) is bolted onto a larger spat behind the wing, the whole thing has to come out...

I'm sure it's not too hard though, jack the car up and have a look up behind the wheel. :)

Mate, I think you should get your ad or somebody else to go and get a quote for your bodywork :P

I reckon they have them posters in all the bodyshops near you, like the Wanted ones, telling them to overcharge you :P

Think I should mate! ?200 + VAT just to get the arches and skirts sprayed! And this is like 3 or 4 different places all saying the same...

I know the cost of living is more down here than oop North, but this is ridiculous! :x

not what ya know.. tis who ya know :) never a truer word i must say..

o/s: complete sill patching, rear arch chopping re-welding all prepped for spraying.

n/s: rear arch fillering, sill patching, prep work.

?450 - Includes primer/base coat.

The idea being i will then have the xr2 kit over the top sprayed.

Spraying of the entire kit - ?80.

:)

lol its one of those things though where they are happy to help you but their kindness doesnt extend beyond that..

soz m8 if i get any more cheap bodyshop contacts ill giv you their numbers.. got quite a few places up here/down here, who are based in barn conversions.. do a brill job for half the price :)

I know of one location where there is a bodyshop, pro. window tinting place and a garage all in one farm yard

 One way of diversifying!

Yeah, no worries mate, need to find somewhere that'll do it for a fair price. I reckon most places charge such high amounts because they normally only deal in normal accident repairs and so want to cover themselves in case things go wrong...

thats right yeah, i spoke to one place and they said "we dont get involved in things like this (talking about sills and arches)"

I suppose because its not a straight forward procedure (like many dent removals are).

TBH i think youd be alright doing it yourself..

I've spoken to a few people who have sprayed before and they say if everyone knew how easy it was bodyshops wouldn't charge half what they do anyway..
