Just wondering why all of you chose fiestas? when there are so many similar cars for the same price or even cheaper?

for me its because the si's are cheap insurance for what they are, look good, and a good car to learn in, yet being a bit special compared with a paxo/106

I never actually liked Fiesta's before. I think it may have been from the preconception I had of them because a mates mom owned one, so I always associated them with her.

But you know how things are when you pass your test. The 1.1 Fez was cheap to buy and run, I had limited money, and took it from there. Then I started to want it to look different, to look like an Si, and then I found out that I could get insurance on an Si for the same as what I was paying for the 1.1 :?

And away I went :D

i used to hates fiesta's. then i drove one after writting my cav off and was very impressed, so i bought it. had that for 2 years(well i've still got it it's rotting away in my yard), then wanted another one, with a bigger engine and a mk3.5. then this Si came up for ?450 which i thought was cheap so i got it and loved it ever since

if i hadnt bought a Ford my Dad would've thrown me out of the house. I was going have an Escort, but spotted my other Fiesta. i was looking around in the papers and then bought my ghia, even tho i was looking at an Si, but i knew a lot less then. Wish I'd gone straight for the Si  nevermind eh?

I'd never considered a Fiesta before, i wanted a Paxo before they were chav mobiles, but I was too young to drive at that time! 'doh.

right place(s) at the right time for me, with my first car (1.1 Fiesta) a mate of my dad owned a garage and had someone come in wanting to sell a fiesta, this was when i just started driving so was on the lookabout for a cheap car to buy and run, so bought it for ?650, sold it on a year later with more miles on the clock etc (and a Citroen AXGT spoiler sticking off the roof but thats a different story....), while i was owning this car i had a friend of mine ask me if i was after a Fiesta Si, i had already had a little knowledge of this car, i knew it was going to be a 1.4 or 1.6 so i asked for a little more information, found out the bloke who was selling it was moving to edinborough at the weekend or something, after a friend of mine had a word with this bloke he said he would sell it for ?20, too good a offer to turn down i thought :) so bought it, it had either one or two months tax on it (cant remember) so sent that back to the DVLA and reclaimed ?13.25 so in total got it for ?6.25, bargain or what!

Bought my Si in 1997, had some inheritence money and payed ?7,500 for it from a dealer and had 11,000 miles on the clock, after 8 years its reading 99,700. Bought it cause at the time i was only 17, and the car was only a group 8 and it was about the only thing i could afford for insurance purposes at the time, was gonna get an Fiesta RS Turbo for ?5000, but i was getting stupid insurance quotes for over ?2000. Like the look of the Si's too cause the looked more modern than all the other fiestas, with the nice round front and rear bumpers, with the round fogs at the front.

I chose a Si, coz it is my first car, and insurance being a major issue, it was cheap, which meant I could start with the 1.6 and work my way up (not too bad for a first car). Also it was a bit different from the normal 1st timer cars too.

Also, helping the decision, I had seen Sarah's (aka briggsybabys') car at a few of the cruises I went to, and I thought maybe I could make mine look that good,

But after searching all over for a 3 door, I couldnt find one, so I settled for a 5 door as its more of a challenge to mod.

spent that much on the si, cant bear to part with it, as ill get none of the money back ive invested into it. i have considered getting a FRST this year, but decided to get a 2.0l mondeo lump instead, and theres always the option to get turbo conversion on that, also a bit concerened about the reliability of the FRST too ? :?

i hadn't looked at fiesta's till i bought the one i've got now.

needed something to be around the 1.6 engine mark for the miles i was doing, didnt want a 1.1 that would scream all the way on the motorway and needed something to be reliable, when i seen the Si in the advert i thought "ohh, its nice, black, alloys, elec windows, PAS, airbag, few bits an bobs, seems to be quite a bit of car for the money". soon as i seen the car i loved it, didnt realise the Si came with the interior that it does and even questioned the seller as to if they were origional or aftermarket ones

had it just over a year, its not the fastest or best looking car around, but for the money, i dont think i'd have anything else 8-)
