OK random conversation with Meilack started this thread but curious now to everyone's opinions on this!

I will start the following to, add yours to the list. :D

1. Bracket in the middle of the car to stop centre sectiono of exhaust dropping.

2. a 2ltr fiesta mk3

3. Bring back the cosworth engine

4. Rust proofed older fords properly

5. Not invented the clutch ratchet system used on mk4 escorts and mk3 fiestas etc :x

6. Used the mk3.5 style filler flap on the mk3 fiesta

7. Not used the driveshaft driven ABS System on older fords :0

8. used a non dizzy engine management on cossies

9. used the efi management on S2 rs turbos as mfi was unreliable

10. made the Fiesta ST faster  to match the chassis

11. desgined the BC gearbox better so it wasn't so notchy and prone to crapping itself

12. shot the person who designed the 3 spokes for the FRST

13. not bothered developing and selling the probe :halo:

14. made seats and other interior parts that don't squeak and rattle

15. put the XR/RS arches on the Si in the first place  :)

16. not used the fiat 500 as a base for the new KA

17. Not used dodgy wiring on old escorts, especially for heated rear screens and rear clusters

18. Given the FRP more blooming power as that does have an excellent chassis

19. Read above for mk5 fiesta zetec s

20. Made more mk1 Focus RS's

21. not made brake lines go over the fuel tank (eh des?) :halo:

22. Not put the starter on the exhaust manifold side of the Escort RS/XR range as the engine heat roasted the starter motors :x

23. Used better quality standard discs as the normal ford ones on older fords were prone for warping

24. Used better quality seals on mk4 xr3i cabrios, as the underneath was top notch with double skinned sills

25. Made a fiesta cosworth, there's pretty much everything else except during that time

26. made better sun roof seals

27. strengthened the mk3 like the 3.5 was. i.e side impact bars

28. make an xr8 in this country

29. make xr6 turbo in this country...mmmmmmmmm

30. better rear light seals

31. spare wheel inside rather than underneath so everything doesn't rusts and tyre perishes

32. external pats across the board on zetec ecu's

33. made the third gear syncro on Fiesta ST's properly on 2008 models :squint:

34. Made the dealers more friendly and less tosserish

35. Changed the design on mk4 escorts where the gear linkage is directly above the exhaust, so you have to hang the exhaust low to clear it properly

36. not use that stupid measly jack that is meant to jack up on a sill which you know will probably split of bend a little with the weight of the car

37. better bottom arms, you don't hear of any other makes changing them every few months

38. thrust bearing linkage in BC gearbox have two holding pins instead of one so less likely to have chatter from it as you accidentally put it in not equal so need to take the entire thing of again

39. bottom ball joint pins - why do they have to be torque bit on the end which always round if haven't been undone for a few months

40. why do you have to take the centre sub frame section of the si to get the cat down :x

41. why use leaf springs on the mk5 & 6 vans :?

42. Have to take headlight out to change bulbs on mk5 fiesta.......why? :x

43. Wiring loom on mk4 escort and mk3 is one piece from headlight to rear light :x

44. Made an RS Turbo cabriolet available to public to buy :halo:

45. not put the boot release in the middle on mk6 escorts as they work with the ignition on and "funny" mates open your boot at will

46. made 90 spec boots on escorts slightly different :x

47. made the ride height on standard pumas lower to reduce arch gap!

48. made more S1 RS Turbos

49. Not used the EGR System as found on the Si

50. made the trip computers on S2's actually semi accurate

51. why rivet window regs in to door when you can buy replacements from ford becuase they are obviously going to fail at some point...did it save money riveting...no!!!!

52. Gearing on the Fiesta ST is to short

53. Recaros for above are shockingly expensive

54. Gearing on the Fiesta ST is to short

55. Recaros for above are shockingly expensive

56. fuel pump bracket on Mk4 rs...who designed it to bolt up the way it does...tiny bit of rust hits those bolts the don't come off and you need a new one. i speak from a nightmare of experience.

57. why spend millions designing the rs2000 engine and only use it in one car :?
