No seriously.

The weathers getting better at the minute, and we should have quite a few nice weekends now until well in September. So does anyone like the sound of forgoing a Saturday night in a carpark/pub and instead, finding a nice grassy field to lay a blanket and picnic down, get the frisbee/kite/football out and generally have a bit of a sunbathe and chat on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon with an ice cream?

I don't know how you would all feel about this, but it's something I'd like to do a lot of before the warmer weather goes away :)

I think you should all go forth and suggest a nice centrally located park to rock out!

theres a panoramic view of Bosworth Park, it also has the foloowing features:

- Car admission (£2 i think)
- Cool slightly hidden playground (lol)
- Benches/Shade spots
- very big pond
- Wood area with paths
- Admission closes at 8pm until August. This does not mean you can't stay until later though.
- Local to center of Bosworth with a few pubs/shops etc. VERY nice humble/nice village

see that's nice! but maybe a tad far north for some people, unless we had a more southern based one and a more midland based one like the above! having said that instead of turning off the M1 when southerners get to sixfields, they only need to stay on for another 20 mins to reach leicester! :)

Sounds like a good idea, but all the meets that seem to be arranged such as this and sixfields seem to be up close to where certain people live, i just feel its a tad unfair on the people that live further down the country ... yes its only a little further up than sixfields, but for some thats over 2hrs! Maybe there should be a couple of meets some further down and some further up? I cant see the people that live in the midlands ever travelling down the country for a couple of hours, yet it is expected that southerner people should travel up! Not just talking about people in the south-east, i live south west and i think a few other members do too.
Just my opinion really.

Some of us Midlanders used to go to Peterborough for parties back in the good old days, and FITF was all the way down in Essex! That was a mission through London, then onto Sarrrfff End!

So some of us do travel.

The reason it's usually Midlands based is because it's in the middle for most. Not for our convenience. :)

Anyways, I've done my fair share of travelling and meets, so I'm out of this anyway...

I can see where you're coming from Becks.

But remember I'm not suggesting it for the midlanders conveniance only. I'd happily travel a bit further than Sixfields if we could find a great spot and it would be a nice day. :)

And Andy's suggestion is only a suggestion so far, as TBH i'd prefer it further south, as the weather tends to be nicer (myth?) :lol:

And doing legal speeds Sixfields takes me just over an 1:40 to get to, so it's not exactly on my doorstep. nerr :insanity:

I agree, we need some stuff further down south, as i live almost as south as it gets. It is quite a distance to travel to get so sixfields, so if it was something closer i would be more inclined to attend.

Or us southerners can just shun them northerners (queue debate, we're better :blahblah: )

But as said, we need to find a nice place to meet first.

Maybe we should test the water with a midlands based one and a southern based one. And one for Op too in wales, as they're are a few over there and some nice roads on the way!

Any suggestions for the southern one? im easy to go anywhere. maybe i should start giving this thread more direction.. :lol:

We should all go around to others and pick people up. split the fuel bill 1/4 ways and eventually all meet up in in a central location!?!

That would be so cool. Plus no boring journeys with 4 people in the car having a laugh :D

camp out somewhere for the night with beers or something then mosey on home eventually the next day.

No plan where to stay though - our mission would be to find a place!!

I'd like random-ish stuff like that. As i'm still a child and prefer not to plan. :red:

i would suggest frimley lodge park but not sure about their rules on campng, but they have BBQ areas, parking, several big fields, a canal, food hut and a golf course :)
